The Enneagram for Teams

A Google study found that psychological safety and accountability are the two most critical factors that correlate with high-performing teams.

Anyone who has scaled a company and built an exec team knows that getting your team rowing in a single, focused direction, is simple in theory, and incredibly complex in process.

The key to exec team trust is imbuing each member with a growth mindset. This workshop uses the Enneagram personality framework and a step-by-step process to understand the unique personalities and “personal operating systems” on your exec team and facilitates conversations around team member differences that increase understanding, trust, and performance.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for CEOs looking to transform the level of trust across their exec team. The work is powerful for any CEO who wants to integrate new ELT members, improve communication and decision-making, and build a happier more effective team.

Typical teams Sharpend works with include:

  • Scale-up startups (Series B-D) looking to align an expanding exec team.

  • Late-stage companies looking to invigorate executive trust and alignment.

“This workshop generated significant introspection and gave me a deeper appreciation for my colleagues and team.”

Program Design:

Every workshop we run is custom-designed to meet your team’s unique stage and business goals.

This program requires ~3 hours of each executive on your team’s time, and runs over 2-months in a sequence that maximizes the ongoing impact of the Enneagram framework and this work.

Our typical engagement runs as follows:

Month 1:

  • Sharpend sends pre-reading about the Enneagram, our preferred Enneagram assessment, and a series of short reflection prompts.

  • 1-1 coaching sessions with each participant to discuss their unique “operating system” and distilled insights about their zones of genius (strengths), weaknesses, patterns under stress, and triggers.

  • A 1-hour facilitated, full team session to discuss this framework and team insights.

  • Documents and tools to capture team insights and empower you to keep applying learnings in an ongoing manner.

Month 2:

  • A 1-hour full team follow-up session to reflect on learnings.

  • Updated documents and processes to carry this work forward.

Why we do this work:

Nathan, Sharpend’s founder, spent 10+ years as a startup founder and running hyper-growth marketing teams. During this time Nathan realized that most workshops are ineffective at translating the critical work to boost team understanding into lasting trust and team improvement.

The critical challenge is that effective workshops must be thoroughly designed and customized for every team, and led by an expert facilitator who can facilitate interpersonal risk-taking and trust-building.

Each workshop Sharpend delivers contains these critical elements and are the types of critical team workshops that Nathan wished he had access to as a founder and CMO.
